It’s Christmas Books time! #ChristmasReads

Hi friends! Every year in December, I only read Christmas books. It just makes me happy and feel festive. So, I prepared my list for this year and maybe you may find a book or two for yourselves ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m not sure I can go through this pile or stick to this list, but this is my plan. So, let’s start. As usual, the Goodreads links are on the titles:

  1. Christmas: A Biography by Judith Flanders:

35665839

This is a non-fiction book about the history of Christmas, its traditions, festivities, etc. The cover is so gorgeous and it will be interesting to learn the roots of many Christmas activities ๐Ÿ™‚

2. A Christmas Railway Mystery by Edward Marston:

34409043

Edward Marston writes a series of detective mysteries and this is actually the 15th. I haven’t read any of them, so I will start from here and continue if I like this.

3. A Maigret Christmas by Georges Simenon:

35074088ย This is a famous Christmas classic that consists of many stories. Again, I haven’t read Georges Simenon before, so it will be nice to get a sense and continue if I like.

4. The Mistletoe Murder by P. D. James:

Another story collection for Christmas. I read her Sleep No More during Halloween time, and I liked it a lot. So, I will continue with this.

5. Ghosts Of Christmas Past by Tim Martin (Editor):ย

This book also has lots of stories from very famous writers, you can see from the cover.

6. The Santa Klaus Murder by Mavis Doriel Hay andย Mystery In White by J. Jefferson Ferjeon:

These books are British Library Crime Classics. I love to read these cozy mysteries. So, I selected two of them related to Christmas and winter ๐Ÿ™‚

8. The Christmas Lights by Karen Swan:ย

41213465 (1)

The last book I selected is my annual tradition ๐Ÿ™‚ Karen Swan is a contemporary writer and she always releases a Christmas romance story every year. I love them. They are so heart warming.

So, that’s it from me. As always, I’d like to hear from you. Which books are on your list for Christmas? Any recommendations?

Thanks a lot for stopping by. Happy Christmas reading!

Umut

  1. What a great idea these all sound like fun reads. I love that your list has a mix of old classic whodunit, to more modern mysteries and non-fiction telling us where Christmas came from. I might steal this idea. ๐Ÿ˜‰
